Serious tea loss bug!

Postby kaka » Fri May 01, 2009 6:00 pm

I was brewing my afternoon tea today.
Five tea pots had I made; ready to receive.
With the pots in one hand and a fistful of freshly picked tea leaves in the other,
I stood before the raging cauldron and it spoke to me with its flames of steam rising to the sky.
Eager, to brew my tea, it was.

I threw the tea leaves in with an unmatched skill, like that of a Tea master!
I stirred the cauldron with the strength of a man with feelings cast aside
and the gentle touch of Leonardo DiCaprio!

Five times I did this.

Oh, the bliss! I merrily stood there with my penis tingling in anticipation,
ready to taste the final creation of that which nature has blessed us with.
Five pots! Five of them! All for me!
Or so I thought...

I picked up the first tea pot... but it was empty!
I quickly grabbed another tea pot, and then another, and then another!
They were all empty!
The tea had mysteriously vanished!
I felt a stinging pain in my heart, I could not breath and my vision blurred.
That moment of joy I had just experienced was gone with the wind.
Weak as a woman, I fell to my knees...
but just as I was about to further shame myself I remembered. There was one tea pot left!

With shaking hands I reached for the last tea pot; the only hope of salvation for my weakened state.
I took a firm grip around its body and slowly, I could feel the warmth spreading throughout my hands,
up along my arms and reaching closer to my heart which then started beating again.
Within seconds the sweet, sweet fragrance of tea reached my nose and my nostrils began vibrating vigorously
and my breath came back to me.
That great loss had left me dead, but now I felt alive again, with a slight feeling of relief.
But as strength returned to me, that fleeting feeling of relief turned into anger.
An all powerful demon rose inside of me and I could do nothing to stop him, nor did I want to...

I picked up my sword and slew the cauldron!
I saw a cute rabbit, and I slew it too!
A thousand more wouldn't quench my fury,
but at least tonight I'll have rabbit stew.

True story.

It's caused by one tea pot "refilling" over and over again. Instead of using an empty pot, it just refills the ONE.

The easiest way to avoid this is just place your full tea pot in a chest or something, and then pick up an empty one before making more tea.

The reason it always fills the same pot is due to the crafting mechanics where the crafted item searches for the "newest" items in the inventory. In this case, the craft sees a full pot of tea, freshly brewed, as a shiny, empty teapot. To avoid this, simply rearrange after each pot is made. Just pick up the empty pot in your inventory... and set it right back where it was. Repeat until all your tea is brewed. Takes some getting used to, but it's better than just dropping it or going out of your way after each pot is made.
