How does weapon damage work? Is it intended that my militia sword should be doing the exact same damage my stone axe does?

I wasn't sure about this but yeah incredibly lame. I think all swords need a slight boost.

That depends solely on your strength.

I could tell you the formula for weapon damage, but I don't know if Loftar or Jorb wants me to.

Edit: It shouldn't be too hard to figure it out, though. ;)

Still...with any given strength value a sword should that needs wrought iron should do more than an axe that needs a stone and a branch.

If not, what is the point of the various weapons, if strength is the only determining factor in damage?

Stone axes ARE incredibly inaccurate, which makes quite the difference, honestly.

The steel swords do more damage than the wrought iron swords, and the B12 battleaxe does a LOT more damage... but it's two-handed.

Does it at least have a better chance to hit, or improved weapon speed, or some such?

What I would like to see is some randomness to weapon damage and perhaps different intervals for different weapons.
Axes, for example, could have a larger interval of damage while swords strikes could do more even damage.

don't you think that would nerf battle axes in a way? I'd feel weak if i missed alot and hit for the lowest damage possible because i am unlucky. On top of that you can't dodge without spending lp on two fighting styles.

No, I don't, since the dps would still be the same.

Regarding that, a new maneuver for parrying will probably be implemented at some point.

Personally I think the base damage of battle axes should be low and the effect of strength be high.
Chance to hit should also be low because you're swinging a big bloody axe around, as opposed to the faster strikes of a sword.
