Constant disconnects.

I understand that the occasional disconnect and lag in certain areas at certain times is normal thats fine but the issue I'm having is that if I leave a house or teleport the odds are that about 30% of the time I will get disconnected and my modem will reset itself.
I didn't think anything of this at first but I've been experimenting with other computers running off my wireless and they never disconnect, a little lag when it would normally happen but otherwise its fine.

I'm trying to play with my internet, firewalls and whatever else comes to mind but I'm having no luck and my modem refused to restart for an hour after one of these crashes, has anyone heard of anything similar or can give any ideas how to resolve it.

Also I read Loftar is running this on a 32 bit server or something in announcement, would running a 64 bit computer mess this up, I doubt it as I havn't noticed any complaints about it and they're pretty common now.

I am also having more frequent disconnects (every 15 to 30 minutes).
I am using a wireless connect that is apparently working just fine.
I use a Macbook with the latest OS.
These disconnects seem to have no correlation to my character's activity.

Good point Uriel.
I forgot to mention that I use the H&H client and frequently open it from the "play" button to be sure it is the latest version.

There are, indeed, others who have stated the same problem, but it is still as mysterious to me as it has ever been. To be sure, there is no "valid" reason for a modem or other switching equipment to crash just because of the content of the traffic, so I can only suspect that the affected modems are buggy in one way or another. With that said, however, it would still be nice if there were a way to work around it, of course, but that's hard as long as I have no clue as to what causes the problem.

For the record, would you mind telling me the maker and model of your modem? If others who report the same issue have the same modem, then that would at least go a long way towards verifying whether it is a case of a buggy modem.

It is very interesting that you say that it only happens with one of several client computers, however. "Interesting", that is, in the way that it just makes it even more mysterious. :) I would at least have expected whatever it is that crashes a modem to be part of the traffic sent by the server, at least, but with that fact it doesn't seem so. Is there anything that comes to mind that makes that particular computer different, somehow?

I'm pretty sure that's just the normal lag, though. I do have a plan now for remedying that part of the lag problems, at least; but I've been hesitant to implement it, since it would require client changes. The bandwidth required for everyone to download a new client has generally put me off from changing the client lately.

What if you could host the client on some free download service or something? Like mediafire or 4shared
