The Thrill of the Hunt

Postby aradar » Wed Sep 02, 2015 9:46 pm

Im relatively new to h&h compared to most hearthlings but a minute ago for the first time i hunted what i consider a big game animal it was a fox lol but
for a while i been wanting to take down something other than chickens or rabbits so with my bow and my meager stash of arrows ive made, layed in wait for the perfect oppertunity ..... i logged on a while ago to fill curios and check my claim when i saw a fox run by i thought hmmm why not might as well give it a try so i grabbed my bow and 4 arrows and started the chase :) followed it for sometime untill it enterd shallow water then followed it for a while more at this point i was determined to send it to the afterlife after some time the shallow water hit a point where it stopped and seemed stuck like i blocked its pathing so it wouldnt run in any direction it was just barely on the shore.......i readyed the bow with full bar loosed an arrow "bloop" in the water it went :/ crap so i loosed another again "bloop" in the water it went a little discouraged I loosed one final arrow and it struck hard and felled the poor little feller in one shot xD with 130ish damage it was .......awsome :D picked him up hearthed hope and butcherd him ...cant wait to start a collection :)

fyi i was less than 5 tile away :/ and missed twice ;< with very high bar and 5 mm

i dont think that a higher mm will give more chance of hitting the target i think its just based on luck, and try out boar hunting its much more challanging and fun :P

I got into like 1-2 tile range and pulled the bow hoping the best,my anus tightened out of fear as adrenaline filled my body, and then, after that long moment,i oneshotted him

Really? That makes... no fucking sense. I mean, if we're stuck with the retartedly low accuracy of low mm forever, bows are useless. I stuck with bows because I figured the devs must have made them less shit than they were in previous iterations (other than for boat hunting), but if the accuracy and the absolute irrelevance of the aiming meter stays the same no matter what your marksmanship then they're even more useless than ever. I mean, shit, it's so easy to kill pretty much everything with ua... will bows ever NOT suck in hnh? I was kinda hoping that this time around they might be worth using in pvp, what with the new addition of people running straight at you not decreasing your accuracy.

yea wow had a bad run in with a fox shot it with a bow and it didnt one shot :/ i was so surprised i didnt know how melee combat worked and it reckt me :<< hahaha
lesson learned :/

quick edit : it seems if you shoot a bow and hit a animal and they dont die one shot you can not shoot again or did i do something wrong ?
cause umm thats kinda lame if you only get one shot :/

edit 2: thought about it i think what the issue was when the fox started combat my number keys were taken over by melee moves i should have manuelly clicked the shoot button :/ not quick enuff tho to think of it :/ next time !
