purely random. After my long stoneless march I ran into a pretty heavy deposit of em.

Certain areas have stone, other areas simply do not. On top of that, a specific region of the world will have certain types of stone. You'll notice this once you start seeing lots of stone (the area I live in has lots of marble, porphyry and granite).

We're swimming in Malachite, Limestone, and Granite in my region.
