I think the only problem with the game being no longer free is the small playerbase. Everyone got used to getting things for free and complained when they suddenly weren't, but if there were efforts for increasing the number of new players, the new forum culture would eventually be fine with it and paying would only be an issue for a small proportion of haters. I mean, it's fair that we should pay to play, and there are worse games around, costing more and having more players than haven. Just look at survivalcraft and don't starve, for example. Haven is more developed than both of them, and even with their fuckeries our devs are more present than those others. In survivalcraft, for instance, it's common for months to pass before you hear anything from the dev, but it still has 50k unique acquisitions and is more successful than haven.
I honestly don't get why jorbtar are against promoting the game.
