Part 3: of Bushes and Salads

"Even a small bush can be worth a lot"

Image

While planting bushes and trees are not the most exciting thing to do. They are needed things that need to be planted in order to reduce my impact on the world around me, and it means I can make better stuff. So I pick the Boxwood bushes to pick the best seeds they can offer. This is a simple task over all. Yes it can be lengthy depending on what what is done on the amount, I personally try and keep the bushes and what ever down to 8, unless its mulberry trees. But I take silk making as hard core as anyone could. While keeping it as a manageable amount. So as I was saying I picked the seeds. I then moved into my pottery and spouting room to get my pots, nab some mulch and head back in to get them started.

Image

As I place them snuggle like onto my table so they can sprout I spot that my pepper I have been drying is done. Why do I spend effort into making pepper? Ill tell you Spicy Salad. Best use of it I have found so far, plus it is always a treat when I can male it (it is a good food). So U grab my pepper and run off to the fields. Why waste time while those bushes sprout right?

Image

This gives a chance for me to use as many onions as I can, along with carrots, and well leafy greens. So I start ripping, mixing and chopping my way threw the pepper. Using up my beat leaves before moving onto lettuce. The smell coming from the Spicy Salad makes my mouth water as the black pepper mixes well with the greens and onion I am adding to it. I quickly want to eat some as I finish, running to my table to enjoy.

Image

I can feel my muscles and tendons strengthen some as I eat my salad. (+6 Str) Well worth the effort of the pepper I think. Remembering that I have bushes that are sprouting, I do sit for a moment and let the food settle into me before I get back to work. With the pepper lingering on my tongue and feeling empowered right now. I go to one of my many sheds and grab my metal axe. To start removing the old bushes and stacking there wonderful wood.

Image

Using my new found strength these bushes do not take that long, well past having to drink lots of water and moving the blocks of boxwood to a neat little pile. I smile as the last one seems to be hit hard enough the blocks seemly are cut with out much chopping and spread out like they are confetti. I pick them up and place them and rush off to check my sprouting bushes. I walk into the room and see there green leafy tops poke up on the table. So I grab all 8 of my pots and head back out.

Image

As I place the first bush into the ground I touch its leaves to see its quility, yes much better then last time. This set will be good and the next one after should be even better. Progress one bush at a time. I quickly plant the rest as the sun starts to rise. I know this is a small thing, but it feels like its worth my effort. Just for some salad and bushes. Next ill replant some tea they have been sitting around way to long as well.

(ya lots of pics with this one. I hope I did well over all.)

Part: 4 of Silk and steel

Time something may take, but they tend to be worth it.

Image

This is a rather small update to my story and well stuff, given that yes I made some progress and finished my mine hole. I am also starting some steel and silk today. Plus I made myself a lovely Druids Cloaks which I got a good close up of. Plenty still do around hear. Just doing something quick today.

Part 5: Every Bull has its day

"A packrack makes things better"

Image

I know its been a bit, but it did take a while to make my 2nd packrat for me to use. Yes it was slow going to get the wax. But it was worth the wait. Since I got it built I though it would be a good time to take my bull out for a walk into deep dankness of my local cave, that I have been mining out of. I did forget to fill my flasks before going in so I jumped back out and filled them right up (cave is in a cove). So time to walk the long tunnels of the cave. I down one mine hole, and then down another. As I start to hit the rock I light my Miners helm. Makes note to self once more space is mined down hear to add a torch post.

Image

As I keep pounding the wall of Chalcopyrite, my mind starts to wonder a bit towards a better long time plan if I am going to be down hear. Past noting to myself ill need to pack a lunch inside my cows pack. I might want to build a post to hitch my bull. But I do need to space. Something I am working on clearing as I get some ore. I quickly build a few more columns to ensure I do not have the ceiling fall on me, I am so glad I use miner helms. I likely would have died already if I did not have this hard shell on my head. Though last time I had such an impact on me I was out for days wondering why I had a cave in. As I finish them I load my first Wheelbarrow into the bulls pack and keep going.

Image

I start thinking on what type of food I should pack as a lunch next time I come down. Pancakes seem to be filling, might make some of those. Just which ones.... got plenty of time to think on that as I load my final wheelbarrow into the Bulls pack and head home.

Part 6: Of silver and Bonfires

"Wealth is in the eye of beholder."

Image

This is me mining like a loon, I could not stop I have mining fever at times. So I load up my pancakes, head back down and keep going till I cleared enough space to build, not a torch post. But a bonfire. After arranging the stones I have amply around to set it up, mined some fuel off the local wall, and striking it with the last use of some flint and steel. I was good to go, light that was not attached to my head. Saving the candles usage for when I needed it as I went. I load up my bull and head back up, I come back down after I mine out a little more space, and build a Hitching post to I can move around more freely with out my bull walking behind, and possibly getting in my way.

I keep hitting away at the wall, drawing out the ore I so o want to mine. I strike the wall, and a natural chamber falls open. I stare at the bluish sheen of the rock I spot from the the dust settling and crack a smile.

Image

Not being letting the idea of silver stop me from my current task, I keep mining away. Setting load after load of this ore. Over time I do expose more of the silver vain. Take a few breaks to snack on some pancakes while I work. I am glade I made these blueberry pancakes, they are tasty to eat as I work in the mine. I lay down a bunch of loads, of ore. 8 piles at least as I keep going, slowly opening more space. I start to see how big the vain of silver ore is. I wonder how deep it is, but that is another time after I am done smelting these loads.

Image
Image

As I load the last of the piles of ore into my bulls pack, and head up to begin the many day proccess of smelting my haul. I know soon enough ill be back to mine, not just more. But the silvery glitter in the dark.

I am giving this a bit of a bump. As much as I love people reading it a simple comment does help me wan to post more. So please do not make me double ect... triple post, it ruins my forum sense to the point I wont post any more. So please say something, anything. I am willing to post your ideas or wonders on my life in the game.

But come one people want me to keep going, say something, I truly hate double posting ect... leaves a bad taste in my mouth, I know the mods can taste the same thing, bleh, its bad.

Part 7: That gleaming silver

"The tails of people digging to greedily into the earth, I begin to understand....why!!"

Image

Sfteer some time its time to head back into the my mines, I have been showing a friend the game. So teaching someone one bit at a time. Well takes your time. I also smelted the last of the ore I brought up last time. So its time to finish off this silver. This should be better then finding a random rock on the mountain. Plus the feeling of digging it free from the earth itself feels good. So I start, I move around a few piles and start adding to the one I had. Take a small lunch break to eat some of the Pancakes I has as a meal, they do taste wonderful and fill me up well.

I keep pounding this vain seems to be thing, but I will get it all. Quickly I start having to pound threw the rock where I think the Vain might still be hidden within the rock.
Image

I keep going carving out section after section to get every peace of ore I can. Not stopping but to drink water. I quickly change sides in my mine and keep going over there. I find what i am looking for and keep tunneling pounding away the rock and taking the ore I O so seek.

Image

As I keep the pace up stopping now long enough to store the Ore that holds this metal i want. I keep going and going and then I think the vain is over. I....

Image

Find another silver ore vain, guess I am not done yet.
