People die everyday.
I don't think its anything special.

Theres numerous strikes on countries like Pakistan which media does not tell about.
Terrorism strikes happen daily. Many people die often, western media does not tell about it.

Although wars have been started from lesser things.
You never know.

Theres more serious things happening in the world that you could get concerned about that few children being gassed that would die soon to airstrikes or some shit anyway.

The question now is if the things that happen in these days lead to something bigger within a short ammount of time.
Neither the USA or Russia wants an open conflict. The problem arises when someone slips up unwillingly or willingly to escalate things.
For instance if the US bombs some Russians as collateral. Words will be exchanged and one thing leads to another.
At the same time North Korea is acting up. Philipines are claiming a bunch of islands in the South China sea most likely supported by the US. Turkey is steadily
walking on the path of doom risking excommuncation from NATO.
What should the US do? Ask the Russians nicely to leave Syria and then implement a no fly zone? Bomb Syria for a couple of weeks and let IS take over?
Troops on the ground? The cruise missile retaliation was a bit anemic.

As a side note the media is terrible. They keep on fiddling on things that are on the surface. No indepth analysis. No deeper understanding of the political game.
The Middle East needs to be divided again along ethnic and religious lines like Yugoslavia was. How to do that?

The flame of war has been burning for a while now. The days of open conflict where top tier nations duke it out are past us(unless something crazy happens).
Its all about using other countries and their people to perform the act of war.
