Could be a combination. Free game = cheap players, but I have a pretty powerful laptop (and I had it cleaned) and play many free games that on first sight look much more demanding (dota 2 for example) but I run them with like 120 FPS and Haven starts struggling on any sight of action, laptop heats up and game goes to 15 FPS, it's obviously a Haven problem, not a bad computer problem

While Haven might push your system into thermal throttling... the only way a system can burn up is when it's completly clogged up airflow wise and badly designed to not go into emergency thermal shutdown should that happen.

I would suggest to service your machine so it stops heating up unreasonably under load.
