Thanks for your time.

Yep best solution ever

To be fair a more complete and meaningful siege situation that isn't just 'wait 24 hours to do anything' will increase activity in the world so it'd do a lot to fix the game even if it doesn't cull bots as suggested.

Maybe add a random prize to solve it correctly. (Not a very big prize). The mini games could have a Haven theme ofc..

Let me count the games I have quit over this BS... 1, 2, 3... eh... I just quit them all.

If you want to do mini-games to nerf the botting, let me introduce you to a indie MMO called Puzzle Pirates. Not all the puzzles get botted, but several have very good to exceptional scripts for them, to the point that the scripts are as good as or better than the best players.

Current programs can't even beat the captcha test. So it's not impossible to do.
Would you really quit haven if it triggered maybe once every 2-3 hours of gameplay? It takes seconds to complete.

You know how many times it takes me to fill out most of those captchas? A minimum of two, some 4-6. My brain doesn't work properly to make captchas easy to read.

The time of the captcha is almost over, though. Image recognition is to the point of killing them. When Apple and Microsoft can include software with a phone that can decode nearly everyone's chicken scratchings, it's not much more to figure out a captcha. Your statement was true about 7 years ago when capthcas were introduced to prevent spam and such, but technology marches forward, most captchas are still the same tech they were when they were introduced.

Yes, I would most definitely leave permanently over such a feature. I already barely play because I just can't scrounge up the money for a sub on top of my other expenses. If I waste time, it's because I choose to do so, not because some company is paranoid I might be making a few bucks off their work or, God forbig, "cheating". I have to involuntarily waste enough time waiting in lines and such at banks, DMV, and other such necessities of modern life to have my leisure time wasted.

Just no. I'd rather have volunteer GMs with godpowers, destined to exploit their powers and ruin Hafen for everyone.

I'm serious.

I've played that game. It definitely could be worse.

It's worked in other games. Mostly I think through logs, ensuring GMs moderated servers they weren't playing on and having an exceptionally talented head GM. There were still slip ups.

I'm not sure if it's practical in Hafen.

I agree with you, but for the average Haven-playing Russian "hacker" it's still a daunting task to overcome. The botmakers here would certainly have their work cut out for them against a professional verification program, and eventually yes it will be different. But in this moment I think at least Haven would be okay with it, even benefit.

As for worth, yes captcha is obnoxious and annoying. It all comes down to what's more annoying in the end. Personally something about cheating has always rubbed me the wrong way so I'm team verification all the way.. especially in a competitive game. Hell I'm not even attached to that particular technology. I'm open to anything.

That could work but be less ideal than an automated system. Just make rollbacks possible and a no abuse policy with logs of everything. Less ideal because certain people teleporting everywhere sounds like an unfair idea.

I won't play a game that has capcha. It might end bots but it will be the end of me and many, many others as well.

There are already enough stupid fucking hoops to jump through in this game.

What ruins this game...:

1. Reality of real life money, life and eating food and stuff.
2. Playerbase
3. Devs
