I'm not really sure how I entirely feel on stat caps. Part of me likes it for the catch up, but I do recognize why a lot of people loathe them.

problem is: 1% of players abuse game mechanics (alting/botting) and them mostly griefing and low chance to deff from them

p.s.
pick all rare resources at one spawn time = have alt on each source (faster than run from 1 to another)
alt with 1000charisma - easest than 1000cha friend
scripted clients against unscripted = very fair

Perhaps once a player's stat has passed the highest findable natural quality the stat progression should be slowed exponentially? It's still possible to go higher, but switching from a linear to exponential cost to do so would definately slow stat growth I think...

Stat caps would be ideal especially for casuals like myself now... The credos would work well for stat caps if it allowed you to go over the cap limit. I just wish you could gain attributes by actions too but slower than eating. IDC about the bot problem. The games direction shouldn't tiptoe around bots like an easily triggered relative. Just go with Wildcards or Facepunches policy. If you bot/cheat village nuke and account banned. "Muh subscription numbers" I think salt and icicles should be renamed and be rare drops from all animals or locked behind troll fortresses in the mountains or underground where knolls have made a camp. Just somewhere that can't be commercially owned by the nearest mega village.

Then? What happens when you reach the cap? We have already had the stat caps, but it did not do much in terms of enhancing PvP, creating new factions and etc. Moreover, it hurt industry and trades.

The stat cap should be harder to achieve (old tibia leveling of harder) for each attribute. While smithing/mining/combat/etcetc should be easier to accomplish with lower attributes and skills. In terms of combat I have no idea with PVP. Can't really counter a zerg in any game on the market unless you make AOEs readily available and FF a thing.

Personally I do think there should be combat stat caps, I think when they were brought in before they were just far too low, 300 wasn't it? Which is easily obtainable in a very short time for factions.

I also agree with others in that both credos and crafting could be used to 'push' past the stat cap to a reasonable degree but the stats we are seeing in the game atm are just ridiculous and totally demotivating to pvp players wanting to return or begin at this stage of the world, obviously the same will always continue to apply in any world and make a permanent world impossible to achieve with any satisfactory amount of players.

Jorb already stated he's not very willing to reimplement caps. I don't think changes exclusively in the progression rate solve the problem though, at least if the goal is a permanent world, since they would just delay the inevitable.

Don't understand why people keep looking over the fact that things can be added to the game.
Stats don't have to be the only way to level a player.

We have Villages and kingdoms.
Make it so people will want to work together inorder to get stats.

We have quality on things & creedos.
We can have a hole slew of things added in to support new types progression in stats then just player stat boosting.
