It would only be a problem in case you disconnect but the server continues to update the world.

Curious what causes server crashes. Like, maybe somebody performed something special or stepped somewhere.
Sköldpaddan, gurbibal master, drunken hunter, the thief of Constantinopol, he who never died of man`s hand, son of Severin, grandson of Yozz, Yozzik, Wengdalf. Also an owl.

P.S. More nice hats please!

I really feel like I'm missing some attributes points, I keep a track of it in a .txt pretty often, before the crash I was eating a shitons of food, attributes gain is low, FEP/hunger are the same as it was before crash

Radio Eriwan sais: In principle not.

It might happen in case data gets corrupted in memory and can't be saved, or on disk and has to be restored from backup.

Alrighty, thank you.
So let's hope no data corruption then :P

Are crashes this common in the early days/weeks of a new world? Like, is this a pretty usual frequency or is w10 extra crashy? This is my first world reset and it stands to reason that the first weeks after a big reset + update would be relatively unstable so I don't actually mind the downtime, I just wanna get a sense of what to expect.

Back when i played my last world I never experienced a crash and had a lot of playtime, I guess I was just lucky there it seems to happens from time to time but I think this world is crashing a bit more often, it started quite recently thou

yes,

a new world always has more crashes than an old one.
mostly due to the fact that a new world has more players doing random shit with the newest mechanics that were added.
as such more crashes.

lateron these new mechanics are smoothed over and less people playing doing less random shit to break the game.

I think it's the updates matter more than the reset. It depends on the updates, they usually bring a few crashes, but from my experience of the new-quicker development (w8-w10) crashes these days are much more frequent than they used to. Let's hope they fix it all and then give us cleaner updates (I really liked the last updates though :))

Yep I'm totally fine with crashes if it happens because a new mechanic were recently added, even if it can corrupt data and make you lose some of your progress.
And crashes are usually handle pretty fast, overall downtime is pretty low imho
