I finished this a few weeks ago. This is my first ever great Hall, and I am so happy with the result.

How often do you have to repair it?

People have been telling me that structures requiring pavement was changed sometime in W8. I'm still a little dubious but I guess I should test it.

I have houses built on grass since the start of the world and they don't need repairs so, yes, I can confirm that as long as they're claimed, structures won't decay if not built on pavement.

Can confirm for most of the workstations, kiln, tar kiln, etc on grassland...at least during W9. Pretty sure W10 is the same.

I did not even think that was an option, when I saw I could build on grass. I have placed most of my buildings on grass, and have not needed to repair any. I just think it looks better.
