just as I was taking this screenshot, it seems they added some kind of damage to armor even when animals are pinging 0's.

stealthfix? all of my armor is now broken-nigh broken.

I've noticed no differences. Some of the animals will stack coins and be able to hurt your armor pretty good, though it's always been like that.

nah, my total AC blocked everything up to bears, my deflect alone blocking everything under, and even then, they were hitting straight 0's on me and then all of a sudden my chestplate was broken.

I've been hunting since the update released without even using defenses and my armor hasn't taken damage >.>

gonna try to replicate it again now that i'm fully armored. wouldn't surprise me if it was something directly related to mobs of animals attacking you at once, or if IP attacks scale dmg based on IP expended.
