Kinda looks like someone beelined through the ocean from both ends to connect the discovered area.

Ok, but the journey still too long for regular boat with tar. Journey by one square from 0 to 32 take about a hour.

Rowboat takes 50% of damage after a half of the minimap. So, this is the question to Jorb now: how someone could swim that far if we still don't have knarrs?

Here's several possible explanations, some of them more realistic than other:

1. Boat with two boats inside, plus another one like that lifted, plus repairing materials (I can't really remember if it's even possible to put boat in a boat)
2. Someone intentionally messed with the submitted map tiles names to make us wonder
3. Map tool just messed up at stitching
4. Loftar was kind enough to share his god mod tiles
5. There is a shallow water way connecting continents, but whoever submitted the maps removed respective tiles to keep it a secret.
6. There might be a new kind of vessel without metal involved somewhere inbetween rawboat and knarr.
7. One of the old vessels could be forgotten by devs and bugged enough to be ocean-proof.
8. Knarr recipe changed?

Also there could be a bug that would allow you just to download maptiles without your character actually going there.
Also there could be another boat, smaller than knarr, one that is easier to build.

With all this bitching about boats, if the person who did it hasn't told, has anyone else tried a raft? Slow as fuck, sure, but people have crossed oceans on them irl, and quite probably before the white people in their fancy ships turned up.
