I prefer a little space in my setups too even if I sacrifice efficiency. It is totally worth it when your stress level reduces severely due to not having a clicking orgy every time you enter your house...

Yeah, me too. The only real reason for the supercramped layouts is if you're the sort of person who uses bots to do it. Or just weird. Its easier just to build more houses.
