There is no auto reset, the devs have to check what caused the crash and fix it manually. =)

On that note, what happens if I HF when I have an animal leashed? Will the animal stay there?

Just, you know, there's that guy, he comes to you, and starts beating you and throwing ropes at you and waving his hand and beating you again, and just when you are all but fed up with that nonsence and ready to say "fcuk it, whatever" he just thrusts his hand forward and vanishes into thin air. Yeah, it will wonder.
