All of those things are parts that the client would have to provide the server with, so anyone would be able to send fake data.

Which can be determined by statistics easily

EDIT: Runescape also uses that, including hash packed heuristics of repetitive actions on server side.

What, exactly, can be determined by statistics? Do you propose we start to ban people because they honestly switch browsers and/or play from multiple different computers?

I am not proposing any banning, it's up to you who you ban. But it can be used to track down bots who play at the same time at the same machine/network on like 5-10 accounts.

You basically hash cpu, motherboard, ram, hdd models, ssids and so on. Send it to the server, and they are usually unique by themselves. If you start seeing on the server, like 5% of users spoofing some of the data, or you have the same hashes from multiple accounts, you might be able to determine who is botting or not.

Of course you are, or you wouldn't be suggesting the technique to begin with. It wouldn't just be for curiosity, but for actual use.

Do you realize that this website exists because they want to bring attention to the evils of fingerprinting, and how it is immoral to do exactly that which you're suggesting?

You can implement hashing computer parts for the sake of knowing who is botting, how many users are using multiple accounts and so on. It's general statistics used really commonly in game-dev and web-dev.

No I do not, it's for research. And it's delusional to think, that it's to stir people up.

Its easy to cheat some java program that your computer parts to be something else than what they are.

People will be able to generate hash easily because it's client side yes. But this is why you need to keep statistics to determine if they are unique, and implement server side heuristics to determine bot actions. It's totally not a fail-proof method but is certainly a lot better than to not have any tools to detect any bot activity in case you want to do something about it or learn from it. You can even change the game design to make some forms of botting useless.

Anyways this is not a thread for this kind of talk.

I rubber banded through my neighbor's Palisade which I didn't have permission to be in there if that shit happens again I'm going to try to get it on video I don't know how it happened I haven't been able to get it to repeat but it only happens when the server is running like it is right now
