... that they were movie stars? The whole of history... did you forget? I'll not even address jackie chan, since he's not particularly impressive, but even bruce lee against a moderately skilled swordsman in a fight to the death would be taken apart (literally) if he was armed with nothing but his hands and feet. Swords are better than fists, and that's a fact, no matter what popular culture will tell you. Bringing your fists to a swordfight is more or less the same as bringing a knife to a gunfight. Yes there are very very very narrow situations in which you can win if the guy with the superior weapon is incompetent, like in extreme close range (which the swordsman would never allow you to approach), but assuming similar or even close skill levels the sword is going to win over the fist 99/100 times.

That's just fact. There's no reason to argue it. The sword takes all the strength that can be applied to unarmed fighting and add hard sharp metal to the equation.

You're a retard i see!

Here friend, i'll explain it to you slowly!

History fights

An army of thousands moving forward in
a carefully planned out and orchestrated
movement. They block, stab, and step into
their opponents. These are endless waves
of humans.

In haven we are not massive formations of
humans going into other humans. We are
small groups of humans who can grow into
gods. We are given choices between all sorts
of weapons, or the lack thereof. To choose
your fists over a sword would mean you must
never get hit, as it would in reality. At the
moment i am capable of doing 120 SHP with
a weapon, and about half that without. do
you have 120 SHP to spare?

Then again, if you want this to be hyper
realistic i suppose your character should need
sleep, your wounds will take longer to heal,
your sight should be reduced at night, you
should not be able to lift half the things you
can, houses should take more materials that
should take longer to make... and when you
punch someone in combat you can give them
a concussion.

To compare the weapons of Haven and History
while ignoring other key factors such as the
difference in amount of people involved in
combat ( by quite a lot), the difference in the
reason for fighting, the difference in leadership,
the difference in co-ordination, and the
difference that this is a game while history
was reality... Just a retard mate

would be silly if it did penetrate steel mail armor in hafen

(watch the whole video)

But they said they were using a bow with only half the draw weight of a bow way back when, and said it might have penetrated if they were using one with full draw weight

it wouldnt go right through it but maybe stick in the plate a little bit yes but still the long bows werent made for close range as in the video they were used in very far range so the odds of penetrating plate mail from that far is small
