Those are pretty much the only similarities though unless you are comparing it to old hafen with pixel graphics. In which case Stardew also has those.

That game is inspired by Harvest Moon...

Yes, I know. But it also gives me a haven vibe. Maybe it's just me.

It existed way before H&H. Like decades before.

Yeah, I was playing it on an Apple II when I was in elementary school, and it had already been out several years then. For some reason I was thinking it was like 1979 when it came out, but just to be sure I looked it up.... 1974 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Orego ... video_game) (Why I didn't have this little parcel of trivia, I'm not sure.)

But then, I think patch was being facetious. :D

Wurm dates HnH by a few years. These others are more just survival rogue-like games. You might say they were all inspired by the same roots--UnReal World and others like it from the 80s and 90s.

There are a few that are near blatant rip-offs. I can't say I can remember names off the top of my head, but the developers were players here before quitting to make their own game. If any of them get Minecraft type success (when compared to say Infiniminer), then maybe jorbtar will get some due.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

yep, my answer was more like "games that shares some macro elements of gameplay", not blatant copies of.

Neither of us even knew Wurm existed until some time after we started getting players on Haven, actually. I have sometimes wondered what would've happened if Jorb had known about it, though; there may be a chance it would have satisfied his... needs... enough to not necessitate birthing Haven.

Omg...Jorb prefer and play Wurm than H&H....this is a news :D ...btw your grinding system is way much clever, i have always thought at a system that combine the classical system (doing stuff to get better) and your system (food)...something like when you are well fed you can learn from actions....

Not one thing -- becomes it game or man -- can satisfy this hunger lust of jorb, I am thinking.

He doesn't, and hasn't, played it. My thought was only that it might have been close enough that Haven wouldn't have been "needed".

Actually before the unlimited series came out haven was very very slow paced. Haven hits that mark where it's not to fast to get shit going. And not to slow. Warm takes months to do a simple task as borrow a tunnel through a mountain side. Plus the PvP system is very very clunky actually all fighting shit in that game is clunky. Like I like when don't get me wrong I played that when it had two servers and like 100 stable members. The grind is hard and there are a lot of options that are in the game but are not allowed to do well before unlimited.
