Would be interesting to know how many of these show patterns of automation (be it afk auto study or 24/7 farming as soon as a crop is ready).

If we have more specific charts with separate nationalities it might be possible to estimate automation/afk behaviour.
One idea I'm thinking would be using local timezone and common hours where they usually active or asleep to determine active players from afk/bot.
Since this one mix all timezones the active and inactives are all mixed up and sort of averaging.

What do you do to baby that it only live for 9 month?

You destroy it and make new one

It does indeed count individual client connections, but while your worry could be true in theory, I find that in practice people vastly overestimate the amount of dual-clienting going on. I don't have any exact information at hand right now to present, but most commonly, the amount of IP addresses that use more than one connection is a fairly small minority to begin with, and even among those that do, it is not uncommon for this to be because there are multiple actual players behind one NATted IP address rather than one player multi-clienting. People seem to think the whole game is just five people running 50 clients each, but in my experience, this is pretty far from the truth. Unless they use a proxy per client, I guess.

I'd suspect for those of us plugged into the community to the extent that we are frequent forum posters, botting is more prevalent among those we know and encounter, whereas the playerbase of Haven at large consists of many people who we would never encounter or interact with.

Indeed, I have found it generally fascinating to follow the expansion of certain realms. There are some in there that I'd never even heard of. Of course, I'm not as "plugged into the community" as some of you, but it was nevertheless cool to see.

We're still considering whether we want such a thing or not. There are arguments to both sides of the question.

I am glad to hear it be discussion actually. I expect it to be the sort of thing you two are not liking.
