Part 8: Of Silver Moons

"Some times the brightest nights are the darkest"

Image

Yes I carved out the area and built another bonfire. Overkill but it does help i have an active fuel source I can mine out as I need to. So meh, I keep pounding you know, Mining tirelessly like well. There is ore hear and I have a use for it I think.

Image

You think This was a small vain of Silvershine, noo and as a bonus the one that led me to the ore, runs all the way threw like wow. The moon shining in the deep deep mine tonight. I keep mining, you know. I find more of the ore I was mining at the start, loving the fact there is tons of it down hear. Like they vein are bundled together and all. That is for for me since it means I do not need to try and find more. Not much to talk about hear, past yes I started to zone while I was mining, its relaxing when its just you and the earth, the flames of massive fires behind you, feeling there warmth. Like the earth calls to you and you kind of start to lose time. But soon I have all that I think i can mine so I start loading it and taking to my smelter.

Image

I load the silver ore into the wheel barrows counting I will have 6 trips to move this special ore. Knowing that a gift to some else would make such time not wasted. as I walk my Bull back and forth the needed amount of times. I look up at the sky and see there is no Moons tonight. No silvery light of the moon to bless me while I smelt this silver.

Image

I stand hear waiting for the my first batch as I giggles light hoping it all comes out well.

(the quote is in part based off of some Lord of the Rings and Hobbit bits on the part before this one :P)

Part 9: of Boars and horses

"Some animals are just so in your face, al you can do is punch em till they drop"

Image

Been busy this morning, made 3 more bags for my horses, and set up a road across my south river. I am still Smelting the silver ore, but I near being done with that. Loving the amount of silver I am getting.

So with the road set up, it is time to explore this new area I can travel to often from now on. I grab a different horse then I normally do. So as I explore I spot this area with a wonderful amount of fish just jumping out of the water I just cant but stop and watch for a moment. That is when danger strikes, a boar runs around the bend in the river and attacks me. I have two options run as my horse is faster or punch it and hope I am strong enough to kill it. I keep pounding on it with my gloved fist, not stopping, till it gets up and runs, to ensure no one else might get attacked. I chase it with my horse, killing it.

I slice it up, stow the peaces I want to keep, and drop the rest into the river, saying a small prayer as I hope for the river goddess's blessing. May these boar chunks make there way to someone that needs them.

As I keep exploring and over the next hill I start to hear a beating heart, like some force is just beating with life. As it comes into view I spot the familiar sight of a Heartwood Tree. I smile as I come close and take a closer look. I dare not touch this one for I have plenty of leaves off a tree close to my home. I get closer and my horse rubs its head against the trees bark, as I reach out and feel it with my hand.

Image

After letting the beat of the forest fill me body for a while. I start back up on my explorations, sticking to the shore as best I can to see if I spot an extra special prize. I take a turn into the river bend, and another boar angery for some reason comes at me again. I yet again knowing that not only are my chances high from the last one, but the rush of the Heartwood tree beat still flowing threw me. I punch the Boar till it falls over the shore line.

Image

I skins and butcher doing what I did with the other one, letting the river goddess do her thing while I keep some of the peaces I could use more for myself. I have been nabbing gray clay as I find it to use after I rebuild my potters wheel. But that is something for another time. I keep on my explorations, plenty of river and lakes around hear, I do keep to the shore line grabbing the gray clay as I go. Soon I start to smell of something strong and herbal, something I know all to well, an Ancient Windthrow, the fallen tree has been my savor many a time. I picked where I live just to be close to one of these wonderful old trees. I quickly pick and chew on the root, knowing it will heal the wounds I have gained. I keep going till my map tells me I was in the area before. So I head home with a wide smile on my face.

Image

I stow the horse back into my stables and put my clay for safe keeping and later use. I put the peaces I wanted into there right spots in my cellar and lay back and drink some tea before checking on my smelting ore.

Part 10: of Feasting and Mining

"Work of that feast by pounding away at rock... sounds like a plan"

Image

While many people where stuffing themselves thanking the wonderful harvest and being with family. As a hermit I spent some of the day feasting, then getting back to work. Not much to say hear but I cut a large chuck on the ore vain I have been working on out. Got 22 piles of it to smelt now, paved a spot with copper I had laying around... might as well make it nice looking while I place dirt piles of ore on top.

I relax as I watch the first batch of this run of ore start, smiling at what ill work on next.

Image

I wonder off in thought starting to think how I should repave the rest of the area I store my metal in.... among a few other things.

(sorry small update this time, yesterday was thanksgiving hear)

Part 11: Of lost bags and baking

"Keep a tight hold on the things you use often."

Well while I going fishing to finish a quest, I seemly dropped one of my T-Sacks while I went fishing.... so now I need to make a new one. Joy Joy, it annoyed me to no end.

Image

But on a happier note, the ore I mined out is almost done being smelted, I even have color coded my metals bars so I know which pile is which at a glance. So this is lovely for me. Its not the only reorganizing I have done of my place. But I spent most of today well making bread daugh, 4 cupboards worth to bake, Fruit Pies, Meat Pies, Pumpkin Pies, Pea Pies, and some Egg Cake to fill out the cupboard. Luckily my 4 trust ovens do half a cupboard at a time. mmmm my first fruit pies are done in fact.

Image

I also have been working on replanting my trees and bushes today, in a more organized area. Why not do 3 things you can change off all day? Its not that hard so long as you let things no burn or wilt. So I planted Olives, Spruce, Pine and a Bunch of fruit bushes. Loving the lay out I am now working to spreading threw the whole area.

Thinking that I suddenly remember I started silk this morning....
