When you gain exp on realm claim, realm gets exp. Realm can use this exp to benefit itself. If the people who own realm are no good people, it is no good for them to benefit.

Far as I can tell, you'd have to get Realm up yourself and start challenging their border Cairns. Prolly take the less tryhard folks a while, but hey, the option's there.

Unlikely to be a bonus worth mentioning this world, as from what I've heard the resource costs are ridiculous for the buff items.
