Come now, you can't really expect people not to form opinions about things just because they have not done them. I think that in answer to your question, it boils down to the inaccessibility of PvP, or the general feel of inaccessibility to it. Due to the games grinding nature and stat reliant combat coupled with high risk to our hearthlings/stuff results in a fear of even ever attempting PvP, and this in itself is an issue. People are dissatisfied by what is essentially their own lack of prowess and belief in their ability to compete in the spooky side of haven that is PvP.

In my opinion havens issue all across the board is that everyone can do everything, and there's no perfect way to fix this. I think it would be more healthy for the game to have classes that must be chosen, that then provide unique skills or bonuses to using certain gear and crafting items. Three classes per character, things like shield bearer, berserker, assassin,and crafting classes as well.
But games nature of multiple characters makes any sort of class system rather arbitrary. Still, I think there should be a way to specialize a character further than just their stats.

I wish you could invest your LP in combat in a more tactical way, or something like honing your combat style. Right now the only choice when "building" a character is going UA or MC (archery is not an option).

An idea I had was branching combat skills based off your opponents stats. For example, if I'm investing my LP into UA I could spend it on 3 branches of combat: Oppression, Honour, or Fealty. Oppression would be more effective versus lower statted characters, Honour would be more effective versus equally statted characters, and Fealty would be more effective versus high statted character. People would have to invest their LP based off who they plan to fight, but I'm not exactly sure how to work it out in a balanced/fun way yet.

Different weapon interactions would fit well with that, with different weapons being better or worse against this or that armor.

Actually, now I realize that haven doesn't have weapon specializations at all.

There needs to be more than just arbitrary Rock/Paper/Scissors interactions though. It works in pokemon because you have 6 characters to pick from each battle, it doesn't work that way in haven.

the more i am in fights and witness battles the more i feel combat unbalanced, i am just a noob who has only seen a couple dozen real fights but when theres 5 people fighting one (who are not that weak) and can just stand there and take hits from all of them something does not seem right

I think weapon choice should place hearthlings into one of the classic MMO roles - tank, DPS, and support. Support I guess would have to be more like a bard than a cleric tho, because healer doesn't make sense in H&H combat.

Why does Watch It's Moves trigger parry? Why does it trigger parry AFTER it's done the reductions?

i was supporting removal of permadeath because it opened more room to improve combat by alot!!! my hopes got crushed and now i think it needs to brought back because playing the game right now is gay af i rather play something like wurm online or some other grind simulator xD and stat caps then need to be a thing too, i kinda liked the combat we had at world 9 end, i don't know how the combat is right now, but i heard jorby fucked up real time
