The game is optimized perfectly I think, there hardly any graphic settings to change and whether I run it on my RTX 4060 in my one laptop, or in built in Intel graphics on my shitty laptop or my GTX 1660 Super, the game runs the same on all of them.... Like crap

That's because you have no intention of pvping, so u use a pve client/launcher client. You are fine with being a soft target who can't fight properly, and there is nothing wrong with that, but pvp is a major part of the game.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

Noone should need tweaks and crutches to "fight properly". It's like saying that a CS:GO player who doesn't use see-through wall cheat (or whatever it's called) is a "soft target". Just saying.

All of world 14 I've played I've literally came across 1 person that wasn't at the market or part of the village I was in and it was LITERALLY you and you didn't kill me, you chirped my lack of knowledge and left!

You don't know what you are talking about. Your comparison isn't even close

Let me give you an example. You are on a mountain, with cliffs all around, and then you are aggroed by me.
Image
This is what you see, and because of your client, you can barely tell whats happening, or even see your own character.

Meanwhile, this is what I see, Image

You want to talk about "crutches" when you aren't even seeing the same game?

If you need to focus fire someone, and you don't have a pvp client, your only option is pressing T, and then mousing over the target, then clicking. Since you don't understand pvp, let me explain that this much delay is enough by itself to make you completely useless in group combat period. Meanwhile, in a pvp client, you just press tab, and you are already switching instantly. It's not even a matter of a simple delay that you are losing out on, it's far more than that.

It's not cheats either, you are just missing essential tools. You are playing on a keyboard without a mouse. You are half blind, while I can see what's actually happening. You simply don't know what you are talking about.

Wouldn't changing how a game is actually rendered be cheating? Going back to his CS:GO analogy, if I change the client to never render a bush on my side and you try and hide behind that bush wouldn't that be an unfair advantage? I don't see the bush so you are just standing in the open. I feel that isn't really a "tool" more of a shitty exploit.

I can't thank you enough for providing just the right example, and with illustrations no less!

These clearly unfairly advanageous third-party solutions that let you see the gamefield and positions of other players on it better are in perfect correlation with that CS:GO wall hack that randomly popped up in my head as an instance of game cheat.

Again, so there is no misunderstanding: you do your PvP and play your own way through this game however it floats your goat, I don't care. Just don't ask me to verbally agree with your point of view, I'm telling it as it is: if the cheats are allowed, everyone uses them and you basically can't compete in PvP without those cheats - they are still cheats, just unpunished.

Peace. /offtop

Faction boy: modifies client so he can actually see his character when travelling through mountains

Pvp is a core part of the game, you can shrug and say, "meh, u just do u, if you kill me because I want to use a larper client, you're just a cheater"
No, It's not cheating in the first place because Loftar hasn't said it is.

It's not cheats, so this means those that choose not to use it are just larping. If you are aggroed on a mountain without terrain flattening it's just over for you. It doesn't matter if you are a godlike pvper when you can't even see whats going on.

Or, if you are in a group combat, you can't even set up a opp knock cleave, because one, in the best case, you lose your timing window because you can't micro your movement and press t and mouseover to switch targets properly(this is because, you need to be constantly clicking to move, and you always need to be moving.) Meanwhile, in the normal case, you aggro your own ally by mistake because you clicked on the wrong pixel,(Accidentally aggroing the wrong thing is VERY easy to do btw) instead of simply tabbing to the closest target.

Just wash your hands of a core part of the game, clown.

I believe in a moral compass and don't strive to "win" everything, I like playing as intended without turning a game into an Excel spreadsheet. Maybe I am a larper.

Still, Loftar never explicitly said that air is breathable, I don't see you total-recalling your eyes out rolling on the ground :D I mean, there are definitions. You get into a competitive game, you tweak the software and or/ rendering to your advantage, that's at least exploiting (granted, including exploiting devs' flaccidity in this matter). The rest is semantics. Anyways, I don't see why it bothers you so much that some random sprucecap (© vatas) thinks. I don't even judge ;)
