All accounts created through Steam will be permanently glued to your Steam account so you can't dodge their fees. Steamies and non-Steamies will play on the same server but they will use different storefronts.
Works like that in all MMOs that are also on Steam (GW2, FF14, Albion)
You can't even login with your Steam version account on the standalone client.

The first part of this statement may be true, but it doesn't lead to the second. Go ahead and make an Albion or War Thunder steam account, then compare prices of the in-app store with those you can get on the online storefront, even with your steam account.

Most likely a relative, there are to be atleast 3 people on the board in Sweden if you have a limited company. It's not uncommon to just put a relative that does nothing on the board then to simply meet that criteria.

I can't vouch for GW2 or Albion (someone else did claim Albion offers their own website as an alternative to dodge fees.)

However, I definitely do remember being advised to NOT use Steam when making a FF14 account.
