Is there a reason for the carotte under the beehive?

hives get the wax and honey of the carrot q. Still takes forever to get the wax, but eventually it accumulates. Also tested before, if you plant a small farm of carrots 5by5~ and place 50+ beehives, and leave them for 2-3 weeks, they will all have wax in them, even if you collect the carrots as soon as they hit their max stage, and after you collect that wax, it will come back, again and again without any farms near by... those crazy bees.

you can leave behives even without any carrots or crops, and they will give a wax. crazy bees, yeah.
