A most excellent time for a crash, indeed. Not exactly the second after I fell asleep, but close enough to have the same practical effect. Sorry about that!

Louder alarm for server crashes.

No worries, sleep is more important than H&H. :D

Quit letting companies make free shekels off of you; install UBlock today. Or better yet kick Google in the balls and install AdNauseam.

Best time to crash - just the moment I pulled a boar with gates to claim an mine open.

How long does the server tend to stay down?

Is there any way I can help?

Depends on what caused it. Sometimes they update us sometimes they don't.
The existence of a girlfriend implies the existence of a girlfoe & that is the service I'll be offering.

Sorry, I only noticed right now. The reason being that the server apparently didn't strictly crash, but rather the process has just suddenly died (which means it couldn't tell me about it). I'm still looking into why that happened, but unfortunately that means that we're going to have a rollback.

I hope it's not too bad of a rollback but good luck

The main problem with rollbacks is that they are partial. Different parts of the map vs different character inventories may be rolled back to different times, which may mean, for example, that some items are either lost or duplicated.

The reason why the server was suddenly gone seems to be that the OOM-killer reaped it, but it's quite unclear why, because its output doesn't actually seem to indicate that the system was anywhere near out of memory.
