The jpeg compression artifacts are not that noticeable for this specific image, but they were definitely present in the previous images as Dani mentioned as well. What software do you use to capture/upload them?

Top one is PNG, bottom one is JPG ... I can't see any difference tbh.

I'm not sure I understand the question properly, I use Imgur ... is that what you meant?
In game I just use the buttons on your client to take the shot.

Oh the alt+s combo? that produces PNGs, so no idea about how you might end up with jpegs on imgur... Maybe someone who's more familiar with that hosting service might answer this.

I'll try it again, it does give you an option to choose PNG, maybe I just messed up ... I also just wanted to say, it does look like that for me in game as well, I asked once if there was anyway to make it go back to how it was and had some answers but nothing worked ... and now I can't find the post ... but this when it first happened.

But, yeah I'll try uploading one of the base ones again on imgur, choose PNG again and see what happens. Thanks tho Romovs for trying to help.

Right, I've just found out that imgur auto converts files over 1mb into JPG's ... so I can't have them as PNG's ... I don't know how to make them smaller.
I've always used imgur, the screenshots were always just fine though for all the years I've been here until the update above, maybe they were smaller images then, did that update make them bigger?

under account settings there's a checkbox to upload pictures in high quality, and us hearthlings all know how important high quality is

Imgur sometimes likes to compress your pictures if they are too large on filesize.
You shouldn't use imgur for larger images if you want the best quality.
