Not that I have any clue what I am talking about, but it seems to me that if you haven't received some sort of ransom demand, this DDOS is kinda long to be random, especially given that you said it is targeting HnH's UDP port. Not that this is helpful in any way, but if someone who plays, or played, is pissed off and attacking the server, you would probably be better off not discussing potential solutions in a place where they might see.

I don't know if it's funny or scary that you saw Snail destroy the server from the inside, now it's probably trying from the outside and you still don't have any reflection on that.

I too find it a bit weird, to be honest. I do take some delight in the fact that someone out there is probably paying real money for this random nuisance, though.

I don't worry too much about that; if I had to rely on obscurity to make something work, it probably isn't good enough.

I think it is quite a hasty conclusion to say that any particular person is doing it without any evidence of it. For all I know, someone just rage-quit quite hard.

Devs are too stubborn to do such things. Even though it would easily fix many problems
