Not really steadily....from the graph i see an average of about 200 players for a long time.
The new combat system brought back some people to check what's going on...but still, i hope with the next updates they will be able to start improving the gameplay with some of the repeatedly requested features. Perhaps less update, but major improvements every 2-3 months.
Also, recently i was reading something about game developing...and it was saying how important controls are for a game, to feel the game to the player....i think also some of this basic feature would improve greatly the game experience.
For sure i appreciated a lot the in game map, and the optimization thing....stuttering is way more reasonable now.
I would like to see more of these improvements, starting to improve the game from his foundation....

I want to see the number go back up but in the long game vs the world start rush.

Whenever bringing up the world reset and population numbers you have to look at the systems in place and why the numbers are like they are. For me i don't want to see another reset until they finish a ton more features that need to be in the game to ensure that you can have end game goals as it stands there isn't much to a end game goal ( maybe kingdom spanning whole world).

There are alot of players atm that are not playing that want to, but gave up after the tools available at the beginning were not there or designed very poorly that it felt to punishing to play the game. As they have fixed some of them (kingdoms and combat) people are coming back to try out these features, but there is still alot to fix to bring all of them back. A small list of stuff i would like to see implemented that would finally ward off the world reset crap that i have discussed with my group of friends would be as follows:

Fishing updated (fishing boats, traps(they did them before selling salem), nets, making the fishing rod have a basis in logic/fun, more uses for fish like whale oil etc).
Expansion of armor/weapons(weapons with gild slots) and clothes available to make and use, more unique gilds, harder to acquire gear, armor for animals and siege weapons and for walls, structures.
Bridges and walls that go over rivers and lakes so we can create laketowns/harbors and rampart walls oh god how i wanted to see them.
Terra forming improvements to allow us to make grand settlements that shouldn't take months to construct working 24 hours a day (horse drawn plows and dirt piles stacking increased into the thousands not 250). and ability to create moots or fish ponds aquaduct etc.
increased inventory limits or modifiers to help with gathering plants.
more metals or just adding gems in to make it worthwhile to mine additional tiles instead of focusing on the ore ones only.
Birds
character specialization traits that can be earned through either hard work at one particular task or random after a certain point that make a character unique and valuable but also can be inherited once (my father was a great fisherman and so am i etc). I know botting comes into it but we shouldn't be screwed over in cool features because of what the Dis drones do.
More crops and Crops that aren't just for food like medical herbs and fixing trellis plant generations so its easier to upgrade the quality.
Unique wonders that take months to build and give great bonus's
Wandering NPCs that trade or fight players

but alas this is just my 2 cents worth as i wait for each patch and try them out as they come.

I agree, feels before reals. Good idea.

Not really a straw man, but whatever... he is correct. If the devs want to make this a "recurring" world of a grand winner, they'll make the end game go that way. It wouldn't be a month. It could be 3, 6, 8, 12, whatever. I think it's a good idea for a game, but maybe isn't the direction for HnH.

Personally, I think that if this is the direction it went, you'd still get the same burned out player base after the same crew kept "winning" the server every time. I'm not saying it'd be Dis, but... ¦]

Yeah. Idiots. ;)
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Me saying world resets revitalize the player base (they do), then to assume I'm talking about resetting the world every month (I wasn't), is definitely a strawman.

UPDATES FOR THE UPDATE GOD
“We still, alas, cannot forestall it-
This dreadful ailment's heavy toll;
The spleen is what the English call it,
We call it simply, Russian soul.”

An idea to consider: Tedium, a Feature.

I already posted some time ago a suggestion to have the world reset driven by players...(tbh i don't care at all...btw there are so many people annoying on the forum about world reset,etc..) so, here another suggestion:
What if in the middle of the map (RoB) you can sacrifice your char at the World Reset God? Based on your stats and LP you increase the WR God favour....once a certain amoount of that score is reached the Apocalypse will start (countdown shows up)...and maybe some way for other people that don't want the world reset a way to stop it also.

Jorb said update this week. Typical developer lies, or has the pattern of wednesday updates shown that they can follow through with their promises?
