Just wanted to note, mouflon are one shot kills as well. Wasn't paying much attention to the damage numbers.

And to the guy who said you can still kill them from the boat... what?

I tried it a bit and got a mixture between the arrow simply disappearing with the 'bloop' sound-effect of something falling in water and it resetting my direction after I had charged up and clicked to fire. Didn't matter if I was already facing him it would just flip to a random direction and start charging again. Occasionally a shot would go off.

Kinda curious what you're doing differently for this to work, because it seemed like loftar had purposefully blocked boat hunting (really hoping you can shoot from horseback, mongol hordes would be an awesome new addition to the world of haven )

Nope, the method wasn't shooting from boats, but you can use boats to blockade animals onto coastal water, and then shoot them from the other side as animals will not attempt to break them (Possibly only if someone is mounted on a boat)

I won't be including that since my guide is based on solo hunting, and is able to be done in more places.

Correct, shooting arrows from a boat will not fire them out of the boat and consume them; wasting the arrow.

That's wrong.. Been shooting from boat all night ones hotting most things...Although about 3 arrows plop down for each animal

Could you post proof? I tested this day 1 and no arrows ever fired properly, after about ~20 attempts.

Just so you know this wont be possible sooner or later because the animal AI will be upgraded. Jorb said it himself in one of the posts in one topic which i don't remember. So don't get surprised when a boar suddenly jumps off the cliff to bash your face in haha. Either way hopefully shooting from the boat will be fixed soon too since it does not work at the moment so far because the arrow actually goes goes into the boat but never reaches it's target and i know that's a bug which will be fixed eventually.

This is likely! I will update the guide with a remake once boat fishing is done.

As long as the cliff you are near is long enough (The safest bet is ~half a minimap), it is just as safe/simple as boat hunting.

I think it's good to mention too that horse archery is NOT a thing.
Shot at a fox while horseback, I've never lost my memory and that much shp that fast.

I've found that shooting at an animal across a river actually works sometimes. I had a boar that stayed aggroed on me after I dealt dmg to it.
