Yeah, I totally understand you. There's a lot to do and not many time. I've only recently started silk farming as well and my mine was left only at level 1. Since I got back, though, I already got it to level 4 and am working on the L5 hole, hopefully it will be up soon :D

And yeah, your adventures are very fun :3 I just wasn't posting in the forums at all when you started them, but now I can :)

Part 12: Of silk and forgotten ore

"Some of the best things, you find again"

Well I got to my silk and moved it just in time. So it was time to process my silk.

Image

Yes I have a small operation one that would be easier if I did not lose my Travel Sack... almost got the wax to replace it. So possibly next run ill have it, we will see. But after I checked to ensure it was ready, chopped some sticks for thread making, refilled my cauldron. Got everything set up so it will move as fast as possible. I sort threw 3 cupboards at a time, taking the 6 lowest q silk cocoons from each, I move quickly and light my cauldron, and start the process of extracting filaments from the cocoons.

Image

After pushing threw the first batch I quickly move to make the thread, since now I have a clock called a boiling cauldron that I do not want to have burn out. I jump on my sewing machine after I grab some of the sticks I set up for this.

Image

I do this process over and over till I get all 18 of my silk cupboards done. It moves fast once you have everything set up and a pattern on what you want to do. Realy the hardest parts of moving leaves and remembering you got it started.

Finally I start to weave my cloth on my loom.

Image

2 this run, not bad.

Image

Not enough silk thread though to make the pants I want to make, but next run most likely (Friday should be the day I process it again). I smile shocked that threw all this I did not poke myself on the sewing machine while making thread. I my mind remembers something I found last night, while I was wondering threw my local cave network looking for the stones I needed to make some Tafl Boards to study. In one of my first mining areas it seems I left piles of ore laying about. As one not to let a gift of my own creation sit around I picked to do what i am about to do.

Get the piles of ore after I was done doing the silk. I grabbed my trusty bull went into the little Cove my cave entrance is located at. I walk and a bat tries to attack me, I quickly punch it enough it leaves me alone. I know this trip is on my favor when the bat does not even leave a bloody mark on me. I lead my trusty pack animal to where the ore is located. Tin ore if I remember right, might explain why I started digging deeper as soon as I could, it helping get me going past me raiding the local mountain. Which I did long enough to pave the iron spot to place my cast iron (yes the yellow one). So I get to the spot and start loading, going to take me 4 trips total to move my prize.

Image

I move as fast as I can, since once in a while me moving ore does seem to attract random people to my plot. Its only happened twice but its weird, well past them asking to use my road to help with quests or what not. This does get me thinking, should I try and clear out this older mine as best I can? I mean now I can make bronze andd as yes you have noticed stone supports is what I rather use (I will only ever use cast iron or bronze to make the, not going to waste wrought iron or steel).

Image

So I stand hear watching within the warmth of my smelter planning my next action. Knowing at least for now luck is on my side.

9I am down to lvl 3 with my mine holes. So long as I find ore idc but ill get deep down in time.)

I will, got my outfit as is to improve. But soon ill have silky blue pants vs white wool ones. I do take my silk making well to the max I can and not use wagons and so on to push how fast I am making it. Even in legacy I kept it to about this much, possibly slightly less. Yes I am repaving what I can now in one of my favorite stone, so in time there will be way more dark red paving.

I really like it too!
And the cow with the pack is really great, I should totally get one when I can.

I'm glad you got your silk on time but yeah, not enough silk, farming silk is slow and boring >_> I'm trying to make myself some pants too but still preparing my silk farm :c

Hopefully you'll have it next time =D

Part 13: Of the wind and grain

"Some dreams are like flour in the wind."

I suddenly had this insight, you know one that means you have a project you must get done as soon as possible... ya I had one of those thoughts.

So I get to work grabbing some of the things I have already on hand. All the cloth or close to it that I have made, some bars of metal and so on and start getting the building site started.

Image

I start chopping down some larch I was growing.

Image

Quick as I can make as much bone glue as I possibly can.

Image

I will get this done, I make all the ropes I need, grab all the loose gneiss I have laying around till I have the amount I need. Soon enough all this moving the stuff about setting the stones into place with care and so on pays off since....

Image

I know have a finished Windmill, I look up at my new prize and grin widely. Soon ill be living a simpler life all for a little extra hard work now. I start building a cellar so I can dig it out before I build anything, so I build the door and start digging out the stones as fast as I can, for some reason these rocks feel lighter then they did before... I wonder why...

Image

In a massive rush and lots of water in me, I have had to take a few food breaks.... mmmm loving those fruit pies I baked earlier right now. I seem to see a bit sharper with my eyes as I get done eating them, always odd seeing reality snap more into focus bit by bit. But soon with an easier effort then I remember I dig free the last cellar stone then go down to take a look.

Image

I knock apart some of the stones I dug out and move up to the 3rd level and start building mill for my grain I had the inspiration for as well. I glue together the basalt rocks and start adding the other parts.

Image

I quickly add the last block of Olive wood to my mill and grin widely once again. I load my one barrel of barley grain into the hopper and watch it start to go down the belt see as I only have the barrel I got the grain in I rush down the stairs and grab a log, run back up as quick as I can and start building a few more barrels. I start loading the flour as fast as I can while making more barrels.

Image

I quickly get as many of them done as I can then watch the mill grind away. OOOOOO yes this was worth my time and possibly delaying a plan or two. I scrible a few notes as I grin keeps coming to my face, they knew tpy feeling just wont go away right now. Soon though the mill stops and I finish loading the barrels.

Image

Now to think of what ill do with all the flour I just ground so fast...

Nice chapter! The mill looks nice. Can you build more than one mechanism inside of it? Or at least one per floor? I know it doesn't make sense but I gotta ask anyway :P

I'm looking forward to build mine, I'll have to wait a bit for wool cloth, though!

Part 14: Of Pants and Quests

"You think the spirits make quests easy?"

Well been repaving my claim hear and there so it should look more colorful then it has, I got all the wax I needed to replace my Travel Sack. But as I already explaied a lot of my set up for silk making, ill cut to the nice bits.

Image

I quickly process the silk into a workable form, yes nothing to hard hear, seen how fast I can do it. I love my set up past having to move leaves. I quickly work threw this and soon.

Image

I have my lovely blue Merchants Pants done, the first of two I plan on making. I sew on a Silk Ribbon as I finish smiling at the work I have done, now to move onto something more wild and free, well I would hope. Its time I do a quest. I think its only one, but ill check when I get there. So I grab one of my white Horses and start my travels hoping this tree or rock I must greet is close by.

Image

I start my trip, trotting at a fair pace, not stressing myself, feeling the wind across my body. I pass some bored, check out some beach junk, a few things I want to keep, but meh, as normal its mainly well junk. Find a few mushrooms ect.... as I keep going. I travel long as longer and before you know I am at the mountain close by. I scale it knowing the spirit that I seek is likely on the other side. I keep going and run into a Salt Basin.

Image

I grab the salt inside and eat one as I keep riding along. Soon I cross back into some grasslands and watch a few boars travel by. I keep my distance since I do not have time to deal with such animals today. I finally get to a lake and realize I cannot go much farther.

Image

Letting out a very long sigh I head home to get my boat.

Image

I lift my Larch and tea block boat and start heading to the water. Sighing as this is now taking much longer then I thought it would.

Image

I quickly pass buy some gray clay, I ignore it asn keep rowing as fast as my strength will allow. Soon and as quickly as I can I get back to the mountain, back to Mount Rifdos. I scale it and find the snow pack.

Image

I travel down the gently stream, or is this a frothing rabid... been down this one spot plenty of times I forget any more, just so used to it.

Image

I go across lands, carry my boat across some land, How far is this thing? Its starting to worry me about how far this spirit is. In areas I have yet to travel before. I keep going and going, I look at the wrinkles on the back of one of my hands as I keep rowing. Taking so long its kind of boring.

Image

I need to cross more land, ok what ever. Just want this quest done.

Image

At long last something differnt, I have entered into a kingdom, its called Finland. Feel like I still got a bit to go, but ill take my mind off and explore the area some.

Image

Looks like one place is not being used any more and a small spot in its walls are starting to decay. I keep looking around and soon as I find the main place in the area, seems they have a build a Knarr and left a coffer with some low end skins at the river bank.

Image

I try and use the Knarr to take it for a quick spin, but they are smart enough to put a lock on it, all well back to this quest, at least I am not as bored as I was a moment ago. Seems I am closer then I thought at this point. Finally I make it.

Image

I greet the tree not just one time but three times total. The tree tells me to go and greet some spirit in the area, I kindly tell it no, again gives me something else to do and I tell it no. Its such a long way out hear I am not coming back unless its to greet the tree again. So I warp home, laughing manically into the wind. Like some loony that has come undone for a moment. I get home dumping my boat back into its spot.

Image

I need some time to think that was a long trip. So I walk to hange out in my room for a while.

Image

After being less disgruntled about such a long trip wears off (and coming back fro, being afk in real). I head off to turn in this quest to these three crazy spirits. First I grab a horse and start heading towards Aerinwara, reaching her at an ok pace.

Image

She teaches me somethings i did not know letting me advance my skills in many areas as I see fit (she gave me LP).

Next I ride my horse over to Amalmaer.

Image

She feels my mind with experiences of what she has seen as a reward. (I gain XP)

Next I head towards an old friend of mine good old Koijeh who lives quite close by to my home.

Image

He rants for a moment then lends me some of what he has seen while sitting there, well like a rock. (also XP)

Feeling that even if I was frustrated beyond I really wanted, it was worth the trip. I lead my horse back to my stables, which I paved some of the bare areas so it works better and well as looks better.

Image

I sigh and grin as I slide off my horse, ok ya so the trip was not as bad as I think, but it was way longer then I wanted for the goals at hand. But ill let them spirits slide for today on that little bit.
