Bring back early w10 combat (before ip changes) bring back permadeath, add endgame, remove the "sliding trough hitboxes" thing while being aggroed (thats the most important thing), keep the drinking&running

This is the only part I disagree with tbh, since the IP stacking on friend before fight then artful spam to stay alive was pretty cancer I personally think.

I think that combat right now is too "one dimensional", in the sense that the only thing we can do right now is just punch and jump, and if the enemy punches harder, then you lose.

I think the right way to fix combat is to add complexity through more dimensions to fight, so we have more possibilities for mistakes and tricks so that skilled fighters have a chance to beat less skilled fighters even with a stat disadvantage.

Right now, skills that cost IP may not help the player himself in any way, otherwise they can be abused by stacking IP in spars. This means that IP skills may only be used to harm opponents.

"Defensive points"
To prevent the Sparring-IP-Stacking-Abuse, and to increase the depth of combat, I would like to see something parallel to Initiative Points, but instead of acting offensively it would purely be for defensive skills, or skills that buff the player. I think the super defense moves like Zig-zag ruse and dash, ruin the IP system. When 5 players are attacking a single player with red attacks, his only option is to spam Zig-Zag ruse, to remove the red openings, which feeds all the opponents with too many IP. And if you attack a player alone and he spams only 5/5 dash, you will never actually do any damage on him, and the fight can continue into eternity, even when you have 500 IP, you can still not really do anything.

So here's a loose idea:
I think defensive points could be a thing that starts at 0 or 10, and maybe it regenerates every 1-2 seconds in combat, to a maximum of 10. These points could be used for super defense moves (Zig-zag/dash/etc.) And even other new interesting moves.
What about;
An adrenaline rush, that costs a lot of DP, but increases movement speed and attack speed?
A buff that increases the amount of opening you give, but you move much slower
A small buff that reflects all openings given for a short amount of time (clearly visible to opponents)
Other beneficial effects?

Instead of adding defensive points, there should be a step back to early w10 and to rework stuff from there.

Because people are complaining that there is a lot of moves that are pointless. (true)
IP stacking was resovled in totally wrong way. (true)
PvP scene took hard hit.


I would expect that KO patch should increase PvP as it gave more PvP potential to people. While recovering from wounds is faster than making new char, a little, people would generally have opportunity to clash often.


But meh. If point of PvP was always to kill opponent and nothing more, what can we do.


There will be always inbalance between real PvP and between people hermits vs funnyguys-sword-in-your-throat (which was totally reduced with KO path).

tbh I kinda like the removal of perma-death. You can kick someone out of fighting for a while, and grinding stats feels like it won't just disappear. I just wish there were reasons to fight, so being unable to fight actually hinders you, like airdrops in rust.

Yes, removal of permadeath might just be one of the best additions to the game so far, and could make lots of combat happen if combat actually gets changed into something fun.

2) You track them outside and KO them
3) You loot their steel sword and leather cloak and they log out or hearth home to your stolen items

How is that a fair trade-off? I miss being able to murder people who fuck around. What can you do right now, really? Send a nidbane?

there are ways its a bit more work but still possible ( dont wanna do all the work so keeping a secret) but if want someone dead and have time you can get rid of people

there are ways its a bit more work but still possible ( dont wanna do all the work so keeping a secret) but if want someone dead and have time you can get rid of people

1) Leeches
2) Normal nidbanes
3) Agroing nidbanes while the perp is on screen
4) Surrounding the perp with full boats while they are swimming a river until they drown
5) Luring a troll over their KO'd corpse or luring it into agro range with them while they're afk or some shit

Nidbanes and leeches are the most realistic out of these and normal nidbanes can be cheesed and agro'd nidbanes can be easily avoided.
Death is a joke and it is far easier to destroy and steal than it is to get revenge with the death penalty
