Your current account wouldn't work on the Steam version of H&H because of cash shop item that were not bought on Steam.
You could still transfer cash items in-game if they don't go with an exclusive server for the Steam version or make them untradeable.

J&L will most likely make all hats available again if they release H&H on Steam. Steam Community Market with H&H hats. :roll:

Although it's true that you couldn't log into the game via steam with an existing account, the reverse isn't. Steam accounts can still log into separate clients natively.

Also, here's a post from the Albion steam forum where an Albion Dev explains that steam accounts can skip the fees by purchasing from the Web store: https://steamcommunity.com/app/761890/d ... 1058298492

There is going to be no steam for h&h, all this yapping about is a waste of space as its been yapped about for the past 8 years. I suggest removing these posts as they take up disk space on the server needlessly
