You probably don't know how statistics works....you don't have to discover the bot, or how they bot. Simply you need to check how many XP/LP they earn vs a human being playing the game.

Flame me why don't ya, I'm college educated damnit :(

So taking these stats you are able to make a graph for the whole server and using Math ( that Loftar know for sure pretty well) you are able to understand some range where for sure a human being is not able to replicate.

You force yourself into needing to modify whatever algorithm you're using everytime you discover someone circumventing it. Computer security software is the same way, almost all changes to virus detection software is retroactive after they discover a new security bug exploitation. I defer back to it not being worth the time to do.

That's a lot of words and I went to big boy school and I still feel overwhelmed and I don't really know how I feel about that and I'm not quite sure what to make of that either now that I think about that and you know I'm still not quite sure how to interpret that.

So, in short, you are saying that if we make an analysis of players behavior to detect bots....someone that use them will develop a so clever AI that can emulate an human being playing the game.....ahaha, i guess you are over exstimating H&H playerbase.

Also to notice that bots act always in the same way....differently from men.

Ey bruv. People bot in every single online multiplayer game out there. And even these multi-million dollar companies haven't defeated it. I think you're overestimating Loftar's skill.
Also, a lot of "solutions" just make the rest of the game ridiculously tedious (I'm too lazy to hyperlink to my tedium post, but I'll get around to it later. Just know that I didn't forget about it, I was just too lazy to do it. If you really want to feel the immersion, please go search for it yourself or wait until I get around to editing it in, which probably won't happen, let's be honest with ourselves here.).

In short you're saying that JLo have the capacity to write something that discerns whether or not a character is a human?

If JLo ban bots that are on 24/7, someone will make bots that aren't.
If JLo ban bots with abnormal LP/Time Online, someone will make bots that don't have an abnormal statistic.
If JLo ban bots for moving in abnormally, non-human manners, someone will make bots that move normally.

EDIT: And all along the way you need to worry about false positives.

You can see where that is going. Constantly needing to change your detective algorithm because people are circumventing it is simply not worth the time. There are individuals that play this game that would go to any end to make sure they can keep botting to get the upperhand.

Yes, i'm pretty sure that Loftar can do this if he want.
Again i'm not saying it should be done or it worth the effort....

What you are not considering is a bot act always in the same way....so it's easy to detect his path with statistics.
And, if by absurd, someone is so clever to create a bot that act like a human being playing the game....it wouldn't be an issue, cause it will not be more powerfull than an average player.

Then why on earth are you having this pedantic argument in the Patch Anticipation Station thread.

Strange how we end up in these places
“We still, alas, cannot forestall it-
This dreadful ailment's heavy toll;
The spleen is what the English call it,
We call it simply, Russian soul.”
