The way I see it jorb was designing the colors of trees. The first trees that already were got normal colors. As more were added, those normal colors started beoming less available, and so some color came in... Cypress was one of the last of World 8. Now that we have new trees, bright, bold colors have been used because there's nothing left natural looking.

The colors seem normal to me, but only as long as I do not try to use it (for example, in the inventory new stones look good).
