New woods are kinda dumb. Cherry isn't new, I know.

To be fair though, there's still plenty of room for natural wood colours. Most of the old ones seem to be yellow or orange-ish-brown.
I only ever used poplar, plane, hazel, larch, witherstand. Rarely spruce, pine and rowan. Sallow looks good in theory, can't remember why I never use it, probably doesn't look as good in larger buildings. Very rarely I considered birch or green-ish types of wood for outlining small details.
Everything else just seem too saturated and unnatural. Or too warm (i.e. orange). Or too "plain" and lacking texture.
I would like to see more cold shades of brown, more texturated versions of something similar to some old colours we have (like spruce or aspen that isn't that smooth). Maybe something red, but prettier than cherry.
I'm not bashing on the new trees though, I personally like most of them and will be using them on some occasions. Just wanted to say that there's still something to add to natural colours of wood.
