Had a fun stream today

I found out that you can place sketches on people's walls through the visitor debuff

And I also started playing the game Darkest Dungeon through Steam. The game is turn-based and pretty fun so far :) I'll be adding it into the game rotation soon

I'm going to be out tomorrow so the next stream will be Wednesday, August 30th at 4pm PDT

I'm trying to start the stream but Twitch isn't loading at all for me and a few others in the Discord
Waiting a few mins in hopes of a fix and then I'll be testing out the new patch :geek:

Edit: Yeah, Twitch is still down completely so it looks like I won't be able to stream today :(

Lol, I didn't have time to watch much ... what did you think of it? I've looked at it a few times, not sure whether your vid helped or hindered my decision really. :)

H1 has had a complete make over, I expect you've heard ... It's had a diabolical reception but, sort of deserved, they introduced the new version with just 1/4 of a map and the map was pretty dire, dull and uninspiring, basically rocks and sand, lol, bases are called 'strongholds' now and they are purchased with in game coins in the form of set plots from NPC's, limited to 65 per server, no more freedom to build where you want in the world. The player base went from 13,000 to 2000!

Personally, I quite like some of the new features and you can be a lot more creative with your bases as you now build various segments and slot them together, plus there are now battlements so you can make them look like castles. :D

But, they made a massive mistake in releasing it sooo unfinished, which is a shame as some of the upcoming patches look pretty cool but everyone is so mad they are not listening or thinking ahead. the steam forum is a nightmare! I tried to distract everyone with a creative base thread, lol, it worked for a bit, got up to 75 pages, then blasted daybreak decided to wipe the servers for some kind of fix and the remaining player base went crazy mad and now no-one is interested in creative bases!

Don't Starve was fun, but by the end of the 5h session I think it's safe to say we were all bored of it.
You're constantly on the verge of dying so there isn't much time to derp around and actually enjoy the game. It's basically just an anxiety simulator lol
I might make a highlights video from that stream at some point, but it's a lot of footage to wade through

As far as H1Z1 goes, I've heard nothing but negative reviews since they split the game into two different games. Personally I liked survival much more than I liked BRs, but it sounds like those servers are just dead content now.
The building was never overly interesting so I guess pre-packaged housing is fine... Shitty about the micro-transactions though.

I guess all games end up like that after a while if the population isn't pulling its weight anymore

Once you get the hang of managing survival, you can do a lot more derping around, but you still have to be careful you don't kill yourself or others off (unless you're pvp, then who cares?)

My biggest complaint with DST is there isn't much to it other than playing the basic game with friends. At least with the single player game, you have some special game modes and unlocks you can get.

I didn't watch through the whole thing, but there are boss fights. I'm not sure if 5h is enough to run into the first one. Those can be fun and interesting, and the good thing about DST is that you can spawn a lot more of the big fights. A couple of people can go out looking for them while others work on building up a base and gear.

Someone hosted my channel on theirs at around the 2h 20 min mark and the people who came into the chat said they have 800-1500hours invested in the game each

Pretty insane to me because I think I would be getting bored by the 20h mark.
I guess some people really really get into it

It does have it's fun moments. I still play the original Don't Starve (mostly the Shipwrecked expansion), but I get annoyed with the grind between the different encounters in DST. They have added a lot with this last release to fill in those down times between the big seasonal bosses, so I probably haven't played it enough to learn what there is.

My other big complaint is needing to be prepared for anything when you log out. Next time you log in, it could be right about where you left off, it could go from dead of winter and nearly freezing to death to middle of summer. If you don't have gear prepped for that when you log out, you're screwed. Hell, even the whole camp could have moved because there really isn't any need for centralized long-term base planning making you more screwed.

This is, of course, assuming the server doesn't reset on you while you were logged out. The game was really bad about worlds resetting every time when the last person logged in died (mostly been fixed with mods/settings now). Add in the amount of grind to keep food and sanity, and it's almost as bad as Haven.
