Well, on the bright side of things, I think the last few crashes have let me come closer to the truth about the bug. Previously, I thought it was a logic error somewhere in the management of map structures, but now it seems more like what I suspect is a double-free bug.

I'm considering running the real server in Valgrind again, as I did for the last hard bug, but then again this one seems to be a lot less common, so I don't know how long I'd have to run it thus for it to be found. If the performance deters people from even playing, it might not even be found. Worth a shot, perhaps, but I'm considering other options first.
