That hasn't been our experience at all... You're saying animals notice if you point a bow at them? Or could you clarify?

No, if you stay near them and aim directly at them long enough(Green showing), shoot them and then miss, they tend to aggro you.

I'll take a video later on.

If you're right up against them, on their "long" side, there is literally no way to miss, as far as I can see.
Before I started doing this, I noticed foxes aggroing me when i aimed and missed from further away (on my old character...RIP)

It's still possible, just much harder. If you hit they will enter panic mode, but if you miss they will aggro.

And yeah It was moreso early on in my experiments when I was testing from all sides, It's much more rare from the longer side since it has a much higher chance to hit,

Today we discovered an interesting way of hunting boar...
I (rider) aggroed the boar and drew it past my buddy who hit the moving target with his bow, twice, killing it (ps: what a boss). That was so satisfying :)

Yep, guess i should have read this post earlier.
It just happened to me with a fox while aiming point-blank and somehow missing. Quite annoying.
Guess right now the only way to hunt with a bow is resorting to some tricks that work until they patch them. Can't say i like it.

Chasing fleeing animals was getting tedious, this is how we solved it.

How do you guys deal with running animals if you're solo hunting? I mean boars aren't hard to catch, but deers are so fast...

It's been suggested before, but I think the best answer to this is to make hunting a game of cat and mouse. You hit them, they run, bleeding off hp and stamina from the wound.

You follow a blood trail, and kill them when you catch up. This is largely how RL hunting goes with a bow if you miss a vital organ. Sometimes even if you hit one.

Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.
