I think the conflict between capped stats and reaching max quality could be resolved by shifting quality grind from infrastructural to per item. Already existing examples would be iron spiral and gilded equipment. We could have refinement steps for a lot of things, sometimes even multiple steps. Stuff like boiling water, sifting flour, dry aging animal carcasses (loss of weight = loss of cuts), weeding & watering crops and giving treats and massages to livestock or playing music for them. It makes high q stuff easy to reach, but hard to mass produce. There can still be room for baseline quality growth, but it should be limited and modest so making the best flax fibre doesn't require over 9000 generations. This way crafters would still have plenty to do after maxing out, probably more than they do with the current quality system. The shift away from infrastructural quality would also mean that loss of kilns and shit wouldn't be nearly as catastrophic, even loss of whole base would be a lot easier to recover from, so the siege system could be a lot more dynamic and give us more PvP endgame. And capping quality like this would also temper the problem of runaway FEP inflation. And it'd make high end gear both more available to the general population and more valuable, hopefully stimulating trade.

I like the idea of meaningful investment gor higher rewards. Depending on how it would work for farmers it might give solitary players a hard time, some things already give hermits the short end of the stick as it is.

raising stats has become so stupid easy, I remember the first day of world 10 Sacraer had 100 UA and rage and was running around killing pretty much everyone

Why not work on combat so you can fight and still have chance win in fair 1v1 even if your stats lower?
Combat mechanic is whats requires attention.
Make animations in combat more usefull with counterattack mechanic? Fast animations for each attack with low delay before dealing dmg (0.7sec or 0.5 sec)?
As if one manages to block certain attack at right time and his oponent will recieve huge cooldown?
irl Mele combat based upon techniques and mastery rather than on certain base atribute. Goliath got dunked by David.

I know...thats the point of the thread! im saying how combat, feasting and gaining LP needs to be completely reworked from the ground up and literally every single PVP player is saying this. jorb isnt getting the hint

maybe you would have better luck if you would suggest how it would be reworked instead of saying IT NEEDS TO BE REWORKED DO SOMETHING. i dont think feasting or lp need to be reworked at all t b h, if anything just make agi/ua/mc advantages less insane

The stat inflation has become INSANE. 300% FEP bonus at all times because salt is EVERYWHERE and bonfires give you 1% Hunger mod, 125% bonus because of drinks, sub/verification bonuses are all pretty fucking retarded together tbh. There's plenty of ways to stop this run-away stat growth.

maybe thatd be nice, but if the advantage stats give arent as bad as they are now it doesnt seem too important i m o
