You kind of answered your own question. If they put it on steam and people are turned away for whatever reason, it's much harder to get those players back when the reasons are amended.

Pretty sure it's more to do with the fact that you have to implement steam support into your game, which is quite some extra work.

Oh what's that you say, a 3 day rollback would have ended up with a better long term result than fast forwarding metal progression months ahead? Gee If only someone had mentioned this at the time!

Would have been much better off, made mining towns have far less of an edge in trading, normalizing q100+ ore just ain't right. fast track world 9 imo

It's a decent looking player count today, better than usual anyways but maybe that's just due to the free play time. Unfortunately however the forum does not match that level of activity.
