And that system sucked donkey balls, because you could only perform high-value trades with them. Also, the lack of barter stands meant everything had to be done manually, and the lack of public trading places with visitor debuff meant that we had to use clunky alt teleporting shenanigans to perform any kind of trade.

I always felt it was absolutely horrible and only traded for the things I really needed and couldn't get myself.

That's why i love new coin system much more. I think the idea itself is very good (but still some QoL problems). This is pure sandbox solution.

So, if I get it correctly, most of "haters" are afraid of the fact that LadyGoo (sorry for mention, just for example, not my opinion on you) can craft 1000 crowns and by all the merchant robes or ranger's gear from other players and start selling it at her own stand for a much bigger price. But there is one moment - ALL goods at stands are ALREADY BELONGS to LadyGoo) they are stored on her claim. All traders can easily lost their ownings, if Lady wish to do so. So, everyone, who trades at Sevilian Community Market litterally just GAVE their goods to Lady, and she Said - okay, i'll store them and will return you some of my little worthless cast iron coins, if someone buy it. And that's what I call TRUST. And that's works like swiss watch.

I'm just confused why you think gold and silver have intrinsic value over say, steel or tin.
Edit: Or hell, FOOD.

The difference is that if she will mint these coins to buy from the stands, you will not know the source of these coins. It will look as legitimate business. If she will just be taking the items, this is obviously theft.

Everything in this game with a use has intrinsic value. Nobody will arguing this. Gold is obviously more valuable than tin, though. You cannot mint food coins.

The easier way to get away with theft is to ensure the victim will not knowing anything was taken.

It means that any of that action is stated as thievery, so, again, what is the difference?

What the market looking like with no corruption:
Everyone plays fair and coins are backed by value items.
My goods go away.
I get coins from some players.
I buy things with these coins.

What the market looking like with corruption:
Minting faction mints coins to buy my items for free.
My goods go away.
I get coins from some players.
I buy things with these coins.

What blatant theft looking like:
Hub faction takes items.
My goods go away.

I cannot tell that there is corruption. That is the flaw in the system. I can trust some people which value their reputation, because if they will screwing me, I can know not to deal with them ever again. But this is not that system. In this system I can't tell I was screwed. So I cannot trust. Are you understanding my meaning? The coins give the illusion of value received and will obfuscate some corruption.
