I'm curious, what does this mean? Does Rust have a built-in voice-chat system that allows for chatting between arbitrary players?

We've almost considered such things from time to other, but rejected it directly out-of-hand because we assumed people would just go around broadcasting annoying sounds all day erry day.

Pleeeeaaase add voice chat and make their cute little mouths move when you talk. :)

Rust's voice chat is great. I've even seen a player broadcast a fake dying scream over it to lure some players out of their base, small things like that make interesting scenarios. Another thing is that it actually almost completely negates the need to type since talking is so much easier, and the game requires you to focus on your surroundings. I had a teammate who didn't have a mic and he died a few times because he had to stop and type all the time.

Actually i'm pretty sure it's the other way around, could be wrong though.

Absolutely love Cataclysm though. I was literally just playing it. Such an amazing game, especially for being totally F2P.
Total misplay.

CoE reminds me of Star Citizen.
Lots of promises.
Won't be much to show for it.

After their Kickstarter I took a look at their "team." Of the 20 people, 18 were media/pr/etc. 2 were actual devs.

Well, if I understand right, Star Citizen is actually a playable game right now, just not released yet for the general public. It's been the beginning of the year since I checked up on it, though (and this post prompts me to do so!)

edit: couldn't remember the site name for star citizen, so went to google and second link behind star citizen was this:

It's less than half of Elite: Dangerous on thirty times the budget. Making something "playable" on a licensed engine is no great accomplishment.

I'm not going to call "No Man's Sky" a failed game.... but they did fail to live up to the promises, and other games that are a half to third of the price still in early access are supposed to be significantly better games.

While experience goes a long way, and add in that "No Man's Sky" was published by one of the majors (read deadlines and budget ceilings), I'd still be wary about hiring someone that couldn't either limit their scope and the marketing hype or can't have an effective vision for what can be done. Then again.... birds of a feather and all that. /shrug

Project Zomboid :

Image

"Hydrocraft is a mod based around crafting and filling in the empty world of zomboid with more stuff. It is inspired by survival crafting games like Haven and Hearth. It is very much a WIP and will be tweaked and added onto. Please try it out and let me know if you find any bugs or have any suggestions/ideas".
