While I agree that death should be a very real prospect, I'd just like to say that it has bothered me since W1 that loss in combat invariably means death, and can never have lesser consequences.

I do agree that it's probably too difficult to die right now, but I do have to say it's rather nice to be in a position where we can add things to make it easier to die, rather than in one where killing people is a no-brainer and there's little we can do to adjust that. Just what should be done to make death easier is a more complex question, but making wounds more, indeed, "robust" is probably the way I'd go. I don't mind the idea that exceedingly few Hearthlings are entirely free of wounds.

Well yes, you just have to be by their hearth-fire, which is more-or-less the same situation as was the case in Legacy.

in legecy you could track down someone who wronged you and kill them... now you track someone down and spend 15 min killing them just to watch them port away and what do you gain? some gear? great now i have 15 dhelms instead of 14 hehehehehe
your game is shit and everyone should go back to legecy

Nothing like a good nostalgist's whine.

Basically devs are replacing "you lose you die" with a wound system where you may be fucked, you may be not, depends on your wounds. Wounds will soon be made more serious likely.

Wounds will be nothing more than an utter joke until alts and rootfill aren't somehow turned worthless.

Nobody I play with actually uses combat alts, just 1 char per person, because they take some effort to make.

I agree rootfill is a ridiculous mechanic but wounds like wretched gore ain't nuthing ta fuck wit. Takes a large amount of people collecting ancient roots for you to heal it in a week or less, and in such a timespan the wounds are actually relevant because the warrior in question is out of the game while wounded.

Anyway, devs said they will likely make wounds be more serious, so I expect rootfill will be removed and so on.

I would like a 6-monthly reset instead of a yearly reset.
