People seem to miss the point, that there simply won't be any sort of endgame without stat caps. Without them, no matter what content is implemented, there will always be a point after which said content will become trivial. With stat caps, there will be a fix line after which you reach "endgame", and content scaled around that will always be a challenge, completing it will be dependent on your skill (and potential bugaboose, lel), not your stats. If there are no stat caps, people can cry all they want about nonexistant endgame content, it won't happen without capping stats.

Yup, can't promote socialization in PvE raids if people can just bot up stats to solo any raid.

I'll remind you people that this is a crafting sandbox mmo, not a fucking world of warcraft.

Everything in game that isn't "naturally" occurring is made by the players themself. In that regard stat caps are irrelevant. What I'm reading here for the most part aren't suggestions on how to improve the game but a discussion on how to redesign it from the ground up. if you hate everything about the game then just quit bitching here and find a different game.

I for one would simply like to see the return of the original h&h 1.0 death rate without a deagro when KO'ed and boars/bears/badgers/even bloody cows that KO and than kill their targets. That would bring back a lot more meaning to stat grind as they would be lost sooner or later (just like before) and thinking back to just W9 even the biggest titans died every so often. That and people wouldn't be inclined to grind just str forgetting the other combat stats. The 10k+ str grind is simply a way to give a fighter some realistic chance to actually kill his opponent within the confines of the present system, nothing more.

If you get killed by an animal at 1000+ stats you're legally entitled to park in handicapped spots.

It's the autarky problem again. Infinite growth might only be sustainable with infinite updates, without which everything would become boring and unchallenging.

Not only must the updates be infinite, they must be faster than character progression. Spending so much energy on that leaves very little for adjusting the big picture.

you can have like 10 Smithing and you would still softcap all smithing things to like 2k lmao
