about the same period of time it took for him to actually render. he also locked on to you and aggro'd you at any distance regardless of how far you actually were.

i also couldn't mount my horse when i was aggro'd by him, it instantly dismounted me.

they also throw caveins if they can't reach you, but only sometimes, and they throw them until you're dead.
