I just spoke to Ender, and while it seems his client may have certain issues, it doesn't seem to be the one causing the packet-spam problem, at least. Not sure.

Are there any issues from the client on my IP?

Not that I've noticed, at least.

Amber have "map flicker on zoning" issue right now. Could it be sending multiple requests?

Ok. The only weird thing I noticed: client seems to be sending requests for (0, 0) coordinate for each created gob. But I guess it shouldn't cause spam.

I don't think my client does any spamming.

Would it be worthwhile to add some kind of (voluntary) client identification on login to help you track down issues like that maybe?

The problem appears to be fixed already. Ender found a bug in his client whereby it requested map-grids by Coord objects that are later modified, causing duplicates in the MCache request-queue. He fixed this, and I also added code in the default client just to be sure, that clones the coordinates before using them for requests.

Has the server been laggy lately for others? The last 3-5 days I have noticed severe latency issues often. I don't know if it's my set-up, the amber client, or the server being less responsive.
