Now I'm really feeling the joy (of discovery).
Make friends with the other crabs or try to escape the bucket.

It's not that strong, it's got like 200HP. The mental weight on the feather is crazy though

Not just the mental weight: calculating back from that image, it seems to give 717 LP/H at q10, which is more than Glimmermoss, except it's presumably always found at higher qualities and it lasts for 18 hours (old time) compared to Glimmermoss's 5 hours. The attention cost is very steep, but it seems to have the highest LP/H of any reasonably farmable 1x1 curio, hence it seeming like some ultimate end-game thing.

Any armor or behaviors to watch out for? I live next to badlands, I should try attacking one the next time I see it.

Don't think it has armor, it's just really fast is all so you might need a horse or to sprint to catch up to it, similar to an eagle

I've only seen like 4 since world start so they're not too common either

It's nothing impressive, wolverine-level firepower. Feather is goated, spitroast meat is also pretty freeking good.

New Coinpress cost is simply 6x Hard Metal. Not only the Steel requirement was removed, you also don't need Iron for it anymore. Very happy to see this.

That's listed in the patch notes for yesterday's update.
